Q & A SERIES QUESTION 3

2020
The third question in our Q & A series is for World Champion Heeler Patrick Smith. Question: I’ve watched you heel a lot, and I think your body posture when you heel is impeccable. I have a problem with leaning as I deliver, and it makes my horses stop early. I catch two feet a lot, but sometimes it gets difficult to dally. Do you have any tips on how to maintain good posture in the saddle as you deliver? Patrick’s Answer: Practice makes perfect. I rope the time machine (dummy) a lot and work on my posture. Muscles have memory. It just takes time and practice to discipline yourself to not lean. But I assure you, it’s worth it. God bless!
