The Lone Star Thunderbird Heel Rope

Sale price$49.99
Lay:

The Lone Star Thunderbird Head Rope is a uniquely engineered 4-strand rope, with a nylon/poly blend, combined with a multi-directional, double-twisted core, to allow the center core to counterbalance the rope as a whole. A collaboration with NFR legend Patrick Smith, The Thunderbird heel rope has a very even weight to it and is adaptive in all weather elements.

Thunderbird Heel Rope

Good feeling rope with good balance and good feel for tip of rope. Stays open and seems to hold up well.

FRIO & Thunderbird

I have used Lonestar ropes for the past 3 years. The FRIO & THUNDERBIRD are my favorite heel ropes. Also if you are needing bell boots, do yourself a favor and order the Lonestar bells, they are very well made.

Trying out the Frio

I have been with Lone Star for the last 14 years and just tried the Frio for the first time and I just found my new heel rope. I typically rope with a Thunderbird, but for some reason the Frio stuck to my horn way better, so I am hooked

Thunderbird heel rope

I love the Thunderbird head rope. Tried the heel rope in a MS and it was way too soft. Albeit it was tested in 95 degree summer dry climate in CA it still felt way to soft and flimsy compared to other brands MS. Wanted to figure 8 on me several times. I might try a stiffer lay or change to another Lonestar with a heavier body. Price is good for all of their ropes and they seem to hold up well enough.
